808 Designer is a monophonic bass synth powered by Native Instruments Reaktor 6. This synth aims to provide you with ready-to-use, massive sounding 808s for your music production and sound design needs. Simply load this up in your favourite DAW and select a preset, or make your own from scratch. Streamlined with over 50 presets to choose from, you can find a bass sound that will cut through on any track. Great for Hip Hop, Trap and EDM production, as well as making your own 808s for sample packs. 808 Designer was made by Reaktor legend James Peck (VHS, MRX90, Bluewave).

Instructions

  1. Load the Reaktor 6 VST or AU into your host DAW, or standalone if you prefer
  2. Load the .ens file provided for 808 Designer within Reaktor 6

Controls

Tune

  • Vibrato: Amount of vibrato
  • Rate: Rate of vibrato
  • Glide: Rate of glide/portamento
  • Pitch: Transpose -12 to +12 semitones

 

Amp Env

  • Attack: Attack time
  • Decay: Decay time
  • Sustain: Sustain level
  • Release: Release time
  • ADSR Enable: Enables the Sustain and Release times

 

Transient

  • Level: Level of the initial sharp pitch envelope
  • Smooth: Smooths the transient with a low pass filter
  • Length: Length of the the sharp pitch envelope
  • Delay: Adds delay to the transient

 

Bow

  • Level: Level of the second, slower pitch envelope
  • Length: How long the pitch envelope is

Osc

  • Wave: Shape of the oscillator, from Sine to Triangle wave
  • FM: Amount of FM to apply to the oscillator, down 1 octave from current

Drive

    • Drive I: How much to drive the first saturation stage
  • Drive I Dry/Wet: Ratio of dry signal to saturated signal
    • Drive II:How much to drive the second saturation stage
  • Drive II Dry/Wet: Ratio of dry signal to saturated signal

LPF

  • Cutoff: Low pass filter cutoff frequency
  • Res: Low pass filter resonance

Out

  • Master: Master output level, -inf to 0db
  • Pitchbend Range: How many semitones the pitch bend does, from 0 to 12
